Welcome New Singers
Membership in the Jefferson Choral Society is open to anyone high school age and up with experience in choral music. New singers are always welcome, and we invite you to attend the next open rehearsal. Please be sure to let us know you plan to attend by emailing vicepresident@jeffersonchoralsociety.org.
Our 2025-2026 season runs from September 2025 through Memorial Day weekend of May 2026. Auditions for the season are scheduled by attending an open rehearsal.
OPEN REHEARSALS
When: February 24, 2025. Rehearsal is from 7 to 9 pm.
Where: Starting December 4, rehearsals will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church on Monday evenings from 7:00 until 9:00 pm in the sanctuary. St. Andrew Presbyterian Church is located at 21206 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502. See map below.
Welcome: A member of the choir will meet you at the doors and shepherd you through the check-in process for new singers. Then a veteran singer will warmly welcome you and show you to a seat in your chosen vocal section.
Paperwork: You will be given several forms to fill out, or if you prefer, you may print and complete the forms emailed to you prior to the rehearsal and bring them with you.
Music: You will receive a packet of music to use for the evening. Please return the music before ytou leave if you decide not to sing with us.
Auditions: If you enjoy the rehearsal and would like to pursue membership, you may speak to Music Director Aaron Garber or President Nancy Hall during our rehearsal break, which is usually around 8:00. A brief audition will be scheduled either immediately following the rehearsal or right before the next rehearsal. During your private audition Aaron will ask you to sing a hymn while he accompanies you, allowing him to place you in the correct section.
