Jefferson Choral Society Receives Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation Grant

The Jefferson Choral Society is pleased to announce a grant award of $7,500 from the Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation to support its 2021-2022 concert season.

The Jefferson Choral Society will present three indoor concerts during its post-pandemic 2021-2022 concert season. They include This Christmastide on December 4 at 7:30 pm and December 5 at 4:00 pm at Timberlake United Methodist Church; Beatles Rewind on February 13, 2022, at 4:00 pm at the Historic Academy Theatre; and Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn on May 1, 2022, at 4:00 PM, place TBD. The Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation grant will support this inspiring Jefferson Choral Society concert season, which annually engages more than 1000 patrons.

Once the Fine Arts Center Chorus and chartered in 1990, the Jefferson Choral Society is Central Virginia's largest adult community chorus. The chorus is composed of 100 volunteer singers who represent six area counties and eighteen communities. The Jefferson Choral Society performs great music for all, not just classical music for some. Its varied repertoire showcases choral masterworks, well-known gospel pieces, Broadway show tunes, folk songs, popular music, and music from nations around the world.
