The Jefferson Choral Society At Large

Our varied repertoire has been described as ranging from eclectic to electrifying, never failing to have something for everyone in every concert we present. Whether it’s with a symphony orchestra, a large pipe organ or a small stage band, a

Whether it’s a Gospel Mass or Christmas Carols, the Jefferson Choral Society’s mission is to share our love of excellent music with all who hear us. And although our fare is primarily classical, we occasionally sing "Outside the Bachs" too, with performances of Broadway or patriotic music.

JCS concert will move, amuse or mesmerize you with the glorious sounds.

The JCS has performed in many area venues with a number of renowned visiting artists, thus enhancing the quality of performance available to Central Virginia audiences.  Smaller group  performances are also part of the offering of the JCS. Recent international tours included a standing-room-only concert at Lynchburg’s Sister City, Rueil-Malmaison in France, and performances in the Abbey at Mont-Saint-Michel and the American Cemetery in Normandy.

Each of these performances featured an internationally known soloist from the Metropolitan Opera.   An extensive tour of Northern Italy has just been completed and included concerts in Spoleto and Norcia, culminating with a Mass at St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice.

A successful departure  from our classics series now includes an annual "pops" concert which will be repeated at Cattle Annie’s, a local cabaret with a seating capacity large enough to handle all of the JCS fans. This year’s program will include selections from several of the most popular Broadway shows and a buffet meal.

An evening spent with the Jefferson Choral Society is an evening you will always remember.
